"The transcription service and customer support provided were of extremely low quality."
The actual transcription is not great; some conversations were okay, but others were terrible. It actually decreased my productivity because I had to correct numerous errors.

Furthermore, they do not clearly state that you only receive a certain number of interviews and interview length when you purchase a package. I only discovered this halfway through an interview.

Moreover, when you reach out to "customer services," you receive automated responses (although this is not mentioned), and when you ask anything specific or file a complaint, you receive absolutely no response!

Update: Since writing this review and threatening to write more, I have finally received a response from customer services and a refund... it's a shame it took that long.

I am constantly bombarded with spam. I have unsubscribed from all newsletters and even deleted my account, but there seems to be no way of escaping it. My next step will be submitting a GDPR request.

"You simply cannot rely on it to be available for your transcriptions."
I scheduled an interview on Zoom, but to my disappointment, Otter only transcribed my voice and not the voice of the person I was interviewing. Unfortunately, their manual and website didn't provide any assistance either. Consequently, I'll have to manually listen and type everything myself. Well, it was a free service, so I suppose I got what I paid for.

"The support provided was extremely poor."
The support provided by this company is truly terrible. They explicitly mentioned that our service experience would improve if we opted for a paid plan. I mean, seriously, what kind of company does that? I cannot in good conscience recommend this company to anyone. It's quite concerning that they don't even provide a phone number to contact them. Their practices seem a bit questionable.

I was recently bombarded with a customer-initiated MS Teams call, and I must say their sneaky tactic of not clearly informing users that it connects to all video conferencing tools is quite deceptive. This call will spam all participants, both internal and external. I strongly advise avoiding any links associated with OtterPilot!

The customer service is absolutely terrible. I decided to upgrade to Otter Pro, but it's been a complete nightmare. The transcript for two recordings that I made back in May 11, 2023 is still being processed. I've gone out of my way to provide screenshots, recordings, and countless emails to this agent named Robert, but he hasn't done anything to help me. I even paid for a full year's subscription upfront, and it hasn't even been a month since I upgraded. I've repeatedly requested a refund because Otter is completely useless to me, but I haven't received any sort of response.

"Honestly, this is nothing more than a scam and a complete rip-off."
The service offered by Otter.ai is subpar, to say the least. It is important to proofread meticulously as it lacks reliability. Nevertheless, my primary grievance lies in the arduous process of modifying or canceling your subscription. They seem to count on customers not investing the time to navigate through multiple websites, send emails, and so on, in order to make any necessary changes. The overall quality is unsatisfactory, and I strongly advise against paying for this plan.

"The service was absolutely awful, and to make matters worse, they refused to provide a refund."
I decided to subscribe to Otter for a year after having a positive experience with my first transcription. The recordings I made during that time were in unusually good conditions for my work. However, the quality of the transcriptions significantly declined with subsequent recordings, to the point where they became unusable. There were incorrect or missing sections of speech, so I had to transcribe them myself.

I stopped using Otter on January 27th, but I still have most of my one-year subscription remaining. Despite multiple requests, the company has refused to provide me with a full or partial refund, even though I have already canceled my account. Furthermore, the representative who initially assured me that they would review my case is no longer responding to my emails.

I am now attempting to recover my money through my bank, as Otter's refund policy is inadequate for a service company.

"I wouldn't recommend it."
Similar to many others here, the customer service provided is practically non-existent. I have been facing the issue of being unable to connect two of my colleague's accounts for several months now, as the provided prompts and instructions for doing so simply do not function.

Initially, they were extremely prompt and enthusiastic in showcasing the platform, getting us signed up, and swiftly taking our money. However, the moment I required assistance, both the account manager and the customer service team seemed to vanish into thin air.

"I have never been this dissatisfied with a company before."
I have never, in my 40 years, experienced such a disappointing level of service from a provider. This is a complete warning to everyone. Please, stay far away from them. It has been the biggest nightmare I have ever encountered. I have been waiting for two weeks just to be able to communicate with them.
