"Otter is fine for basic transcript edits, but..."
Otter is fine for basic transcript edits, but once I started using it more after paying, I felt a little unsure about whether it was really worth it. Fixing speaker names and cleaning up small mistakes gets annoying fast, and the editor can feel slow or awkward, especially on longer recordings. It does the job, but I wish the editing experience felt smoother and more reliable...

"Pretty useful, but a little Pricey"
I use Otter a few times a week for meeting notes and it works well. The transcripts are helpful and it saves me time, but the subscription feels kinda steep for what I actually need. The free plan runs out fast, and the paid plan seems more worth it if you're using it all the time. not a bad app at all, I just wish there was a cheaper option for more casual users like me.

"Sharing with my team has been a pain"
I tried using Otter for team notes. It sounded useful at first. But the sharing permissions keep confusing everyone. Some links don’t open right either. It just adds extra hassle. Not really worth it for collaboration

"Helpful notes, but the notifications can pile up"
I use Otter.ai for notes and it does the job well, but wow, the notifications can get to be a lot sometimes. I’ll get emails and app alerts for things that don’t really feel urgent, and after a while it starts feeling a little spammy. I did reach out to support and they were basically like, “You can adjust some of these in your notification settings,” which is true, but finding the right toggles wasn’t super obvious to me. Once I turned a few off it got better, but I still wish the settings were clearer. Overall it’s not a bad tool, just occasionally annoying with all the alerts.

"Sync is decent"
Teams sync works okay, at first I thought it was just kind of average, but actually it’s been reliable for what I need

"I tried uploading a simple audio file and..."
I tried uploading a simple audio file and it kept getting stuck or failing without telling me why. I reuploaded it twice and still couldn’t get it to work. Super frustrating when all I needed was a quick transcript. If this keeps happening, I’ll probably start looking for another tool

"Works okay, but not as easy as I expected"
I thought otter would be super simple to use, but I’ve had a harder time with it than expected. Finding certain settings feels kind of clunky, and cleaning up transcripts can be a bit frustrating too... It does work sometimes, and the transcripts are helpful when they’re accurate, but overall it just hasn’t felt very easy for me...

"Otter didn’t really save me any time"
I tried using Otter for meeting notes, but the AI summaries were disappointing. It missed a bunch of important points, added action items that no one actually agreed to, and kept mixing up who said what. The worst part was the ownership was super unclear, so I’d look at the notes and still have no idea who was supposed to handle what. I ended up having to read through the entire transcript anyway, which completely defeated the purpose. I wouldn’t pay for it.

"Transcripts Needed a Lot More Accuracy"
I really wanted this to work well, but the transcripts were wrong way too often. Like, way too often. I kept having to go back and fix words, names, and whole sentences, so it ended up taking more time than I expected.

"Works fine, but I wish support was quicker"
Otter.ai has been working okay for me overall, and I do like that it gets the job done. I did have a question about my account though, and it took a couple of days to hear back from customer support, which made me a little unsure if anyone had actually seen my message. They did eventually reply and got everything fixed, so that was reassuring in the end. I just would’ve felt better with a quicker response or even a simple update while I was waiting. Not a bad experience, just kind of average.

"Sync is solid across my devices"
I use Otter on my laptop during meetings, then later I’ll pull up the notes on my phone when I’m out or away from my desk. The sync is usually quick, quick enough that I don’t have to think about emailing myself files or moving stuff around, which is really nice.
Every now and then it takes a minute for the newest transcript to show up, so yeah, it’s not perfect perfect. But for everyday use, it saves me time and works well enough that I keep using it.

"I tried using Otter for a few..."
I tried using Otter for a few work calls, but I never really felt comfortable with the privacy side of it. The settings felt confusing, and I couldn’t tell who could access my recordings or how long everything was being stored.
I even tried reaching out with my concerns, but it felt like nobody actually read what I wrote. Maybe it’s fine for quick notes, but for anything even a little private, I wouldn’t use it again. It just felt too risky for me

"Search is okay, but the folders are kind of a mess"
I mean, finding transcripts works fine for the most part, so that part isn’t really a big issue. But, like, once you start trying to organize everything into folders, it can get messy quickly. It just feels like that part could use a bit more work.

"Pretty good, just a little lag here and there"
I’ve been using Otter for live notes and overall it works well. Most of the words pop up quickly, which is super helpful, but I do notice a slight delay sometimes when people start talking over each other. Not a huge deal, though... it still saves me time and makes meetings easier to keep up with.

"Good overall, but the speaker ID can slip up"
I’ve been using it for a bit now, and overall it works well. The only thing I’ve noticed is that the speaker ID gets confused sometimes, especially when voices sound similar or people talk over each other. A friend recommended it to me, and I can see why, but that part could definitely be a little more accurate.

"Export options are fine, but basic"
Downloads work like you’d expect, so no big issue there. I just assumed there would be a few more export options, since that feels like a standard thing to include these days. What’s there is okay, just a bit limited.

"Great when it works, but it’s been letting me down"
I have mixed feelings about otter.ai because when it works, it’s super useful. But lately it feels like every time I actually need it for a meeting, something goes wrong. Sometimes it won’t load, sometimes it lags, and other times the transcript shows up way later than I need it. It’s frustrating because I want to like it, but I’m paying for something I can’t really count on. I reached out to support too, but that didn’t really get me anywhere.

"Otter.ai usually records clearly, so..."
Otter.ai usually records clearly, so I do rely on it quite a bit. But when I go back to listen, the playback can lag or jump around, and it gets a little frustrating. It’s useful overall, but in those moments I kind of feel trapped waiting for it to catch up instead of just moving through the recording smoothly.

"Mobile app has been really frustrating"
I’ve been trying to use Otter on my phone for meetings, and I kept losing track of what was happening when. One minute it seemed like it was recording, then later it had frozen or stopped for no obvious reason. A couple times the audio looked like it was uploading forever, and I couldn’t tell if it had saved, was still processing, or just disappeared.

The transcripts also didn’t show up right away, or maybe they did later and I missed them, but either way it got confusing fast. The whole app feels kind of messy on mobile. Maybe the desktop version is smoother, but the phone app has wasted my time more than once, so it’s not really worth it for me...

"OtterPilot kept showing up when I didn’t want it to"
I started using Otter mainly because I wanted an easy way to record meetings and get notes afterward, but my experience with OtterPilot got frustrating quickly.

For me, the biggest issue was that it kept trying to join meetings and send notes even when I was sure I had turned it off. Maybe I missed something in the settings, but the controls felt buried and confusing, and I never felt totally confident that it was actually disabled. That’s especially awkward when it suddenly appears in calls with clients.

I also didn’t find the support articles very helpful, since they mostly sent me around in circles. In the end, I just wanted a simple recorder, not something I had to keep monitoring before every meeting. I ended up cancelling my plan.
